Mad Cool’s biggest draw is without doubt the huge lineup that they offer each year, featuring giants from across the globe. But combine that with the festival’s investment in sound quality, the almost guaranteed summer sun, and the opportunity to explore Madrid afforded by the late start to the music each day, and there’s even more going for it than the acts on the bill.

As every music fan will know, Liverpool has a rich musical history having produced a host of famous rock bands, such as The La’s, Cast, The Zutons, and of course, The Beatles.

Liverpool Sound City carries on the tradition, showcasing a lineup of smaller artists, as well as unsigned talent. The festival has a proud record of putting on alt-J, Florence and the Machine and The xx before anyone else.

And beyond the main event, Sound City also runs a program of conferences with leading industry figures, including labels, promoters, artists, managers and more, who join festival-goers for a series of panels, debates and workshops.

Showcasing the biggest acts from the worlds of grime, hip-hop, garage and more, 2019’s lineup will feature headliner sets from Cardi B, Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky and Migos, with the likes of Future, Tory Lanez, Lil Uzi Vert and Rae Sremmurd also performing across the weekend.

Now one of the capital’s musical highlights, Wireless has become the go-to festival for those after the urban side of mainstream.
